Sustainable Southbury exists to help transform Southbury into a more sustainable community that sustains a vibrant local economy, fosters human health through clean water, air, and healthy soils, provides economic well-being for all, conserves and uses clean energy and transportation, and reduces waste. Think about everything you would want in a perfect town to live in. We work across 12 categories of sustainability including arts and culture, housing that all our residents can afford, recycling, reducing food waste, energy conservation and clean energy, pedestrian-safe streets, etc. Achieving this vision requires participation from the community and its organizations. We founded Sustainable Southbury on the Sustainable CT framework, providing the roadmap, resources, and guidance to achieve a more sustainable community.
