We are a high school robotics team from Pomperaug High School, and operate under the direction of the FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC). FIRST, For the Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology, is a non-profit organization whose purpose is to engage young minds in hands-on and competitive programs that emphasizes the importance of science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). These competitions are made to teach people to learn technology skills, to inspire innovation, and to foster well-rounded life capabilities including self-confidence, communication, and leadership. If you are interested in learning more about FIRST we encourage you to visit their website at www.usfirst.org. Our team is largely composed of some of the most innovative and creative students at Pomperaug High School. Our advisor, Brian Marganski, is the technology arts teacher at Pomperaug. Robotics teams like ours thrive on hard work and focuses on honing the many skills required to build a robot in six weeks. So we encourage students of all ages to pursue STEM studies, so they can learn how to work as a team in a competitive and professional environment. After our six-week build season is finished, our team works on the many other aspects required to run a robotics program including recruiting new members, fundraising, and giving back to our supportive community.
