The mission of the Oxford Land Trust, Inc. is land acquisition and its maintenance, education, and the preservation of natural resources. Our land is held as Open Space, in perpetuity. Two of our major annual events are the Second-Grade Hike (See photo), a 19-year tradition, held every year at Rockhouse Hill Sanctuary and Founders' Day which commemorates the establishment of the Land Trust thirty- three years ago in 1988; this commemoration, which includes a hike, a wildlife presentation, and a picnic lunch is held every year in conjunction with CT Forest and Parks' annual Trails Day weekend. In addition, we strongly advocate for the Town’s purchase of environmentally-strategic parcels and work to safeguard Oxford's natural resources.
